Bayern Munich Women goalkeeper Maria Luisa ‘Mala’ Grohs has been diagnosed with a malignant tumour. Bayern say that the 23-year-old will be unavailable for selection “for the foreseeable future”. Her contract with the club has been extended by one year through to the summer of 2026.

Bayern goalkeeper Mala Grohs, 23, told fans she'd been diagnosed with cancer and would be unavailable to play for the foreseeable future. The goalkeeper joined Bayern in 2019 as a teen prospect and has won three Bundesliga titles and established herself as first-choice keeper for the Munich- based club.
