WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Nov. 18-25 is National Operation Christmas Child Collection Week, and one Wichita woman is making sure children get a special gift. This year alone, Bennie C. Booth gave away 500 Barbies with handmade dresses.

Despite Hurricane Helene's devastation across North Carolina and much of the Southeast, communities are stepping up to donate to Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse.

There is something heartwarming and inspiring about sending a collection of gifts to an unknown child in a different country.

Now’s your chance to help a child in need, in another country, experience the joy of Christmas. This week is National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child. It’s a movement that’s happening all across the United States.

Volunteers spent the day at All Nations Community Church on Tuesday, collecting shoeboxes full of toys and gifts for kids.

Children in need are being blessed this Christmas season through the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child.
