It wasn't pretty but the United States men's national team got the job done winning the first leg of the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal against Jamaica 1-0 on Thursday. Ricardo Pepi scored only five minutes into the match behind a Christian Pulisic assist and Matt Turner saved Demarai Gray's penalty in the 14th minute before the defense went to work limiting chances.

Ricardo Pepi scored from Christian Pulisic’s pass in the fifth minute, Matt Turner saved a penalty kick and the United States won 1-0 at Jamaica in a CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal first leg, the Americans’ first competitive match under coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Jamaica can take confidence from the fact that they were the last Caribbean nation to defeat the United States in the United States back in 2019. Also, the USMNT have not won consecutive games all through 2024 and the Jamaicans would like to extend the wait of the Mauricio Pochettino side.
