A fire at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Jhansi resulted in the deaths of 10 children, with fears of more casualties as investigations continue.

The officials noted that at least 54 infants were admitted to the NICU when the incident took place. Out of them, 10 were killed and those injured are currently under observation

Avinash Kumar told reporters that the fire broke out around 10.45 pm on Friday in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, possibly due to an electrical short circuit.
