HBO's highly anticipated Lanterns, a gritty and dark adaptation of the Green Lantern DC Comics saga, has added another big name to its already impressive cast. Poorna Jagannathan (Onyx Collectives Deli Boys) has been tapped for a heavily recurring role in the eight-episode drama where she will join series regulars Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights),

Lanterns is based on DC’s long-running Green Lantern comics and stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as, respectively, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, two of the best-known characters in the comics’ long history. HBO picked up Lanterns to series in June after years of start-and-stop development.
