Russia's Gazprom Export announced that its supply of natural gas to Austria is ending on Nov. 16, according to OMV, Austria's largest gas supply company.

This move ends the oldest Russian gas export route to Europe, a pipeline built during the Soviet era that runs through Ukraine. The pipeline is expected to be shut down by the end of this year. Ukraine announced it will not extend its transit agreement with Russia’s Gazprom in an effort to stop revenue that helps fund Russia’s war efforts.

Austria's OMV has been informed by Gazprom that the Russian gas producer would reduce its deliveries of natural gas from to zero from 0500 GMT on Nov. 16, according to information published on the CEGH Remit platform on Friday.
