The Chicago White Sox on Thursday formally announced Ryan Fuller as director of hitting. He will oversee all aspects of hitting throughout the organization.

The White Sox need help at every level of the organization right now, but they've taken a big step to help the ailing offense.

Former Orioles coach Ryan Fuller was officially named White Sox director of hitting Thursday. Fuller, 34, was the Orioles co-hitting coach since 2022. Sox GM Chris Getz said at the general managers last week that Fuller would be taking the position, a supervising role not unlike Brian Bannister’s as director of pitching.

As trade rumors continue to swirl around White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet, the Red Sox, Dodgers and Orioles have emerged as his most likely suitors.

During a rebuild there comes a time where teams have to let go of players that mean a lot to the fanbase. No one wants to see their team shipping off talent, especially talent that once was a sign of hope for the city.
