Star Indian batter Virat Kohli has reportedly undergone medical scans for an undisclosed injury, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. However, despite the development, Kohli was declared fit and played an intra-squad match at WACA Stadium in Perth ahead of the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy opener.

Ahead of the Perth Test, KL Rahul suffered a major blow in practice. Earlier, reports suggested that Virat Kohli also underwent some scans.

Amid reports of Virat Kohli undergoing medical scans in Australia, sources close to the cricketer have confirmed that he is ‘absolutely fine’ as he batted during match simulation on Friday.

Virat Kohli took the field on Friday for a match simulation ahead of the 1st Test against Australia at the Optus Stadium.

Following Kohli's scans, KL Rahul, who will open in place of Rohit, faced an injury scare on Friday after getting hit on his elbow during a practice session.

KL Rahul sustained an elbow injury during India's practice match in Perth, casting doubt on his availability for the first Test against Australia. Rahul was struck by a Prasidh Krishna delivery and underwent scans.

Virat Kohli will be the centre of attraction when India take on Australia in the five-match Test series. The 36 year old has had some fond memories in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and will be India's go-to man in the upcoming Test series.
